Hello dear friends! 

We landed safely back in Kenya in early July, without a single hitch. Anyone who’s been following us for a while knows that hasn’t always been the case. That’s why we’re very grateful that everything went smoothly this time.
We’ve since settled back in well here. We were especially happy to see our team and the children—including the two new students. The reunion was brief, however, as Tuesday was already the last day of school for the second trimester.
The next trimester will begin at the end of August. Last week, the students took their exams, which are held in the middle and at the end of each trimester. We’re naturally very pleased that everyone did well on these exams.

Last week, our students took assessments to check their learning progress.

We also have some other good news: Our campaign to raise the remaining 15,000 euros needed for the kitchen building was ultimately successful, and we have now secured the necessary funds. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated. Accordingly, we submitted the building permit application on Monday. We hope to receive it by the end of August. Then construction can begin in September.

Outlook:
In preparation for construction, we are now putting the construction contract out to bid. Please pray that we receive good bids and select a reliable construction company.
In addition, we will be focusing more on securing Marco’s work permit in the coming weeks. The requirements and bureaucratic procedures have changed again in the meantime. Accordingly, we are grateful for your prayers in this matter as well.
