Newsletter October 26

Hello dear friends!

We’ve had another eventful few weeks. Construction of the new kitchen building is progressing very well. The roof will be completed this week, which of course makes us very happy.
Just as exciting for us was the graduation ceremony at our daycare center/school. After a procession of children, parents, and teachers through the nearest large town, we took a bus ride together—complete with music and singing—back to our school. There, we heard various speeches and enjoyed dances and songs performed by our students, which our teachers had rehearsed with them beforehand. To wrap things up, there was a meal for everyone and, of course, cake—which is a must at any celebration like this in Kenya.
For us, it was our first graduation ceremony. We are incredibly proud of “our children” and the progress they’ve made this year. But we’re also very grateful to all of you and for your support. Because without you, none of this would ever be possible—we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Last week, the TUBYA Academy held its first graduation ceremony.

Outlook:
Next week, we’ll be hosting a group of Germans and Kenyans between the ages of 18 and 30. They’ll be participating in an intercultural exchange focused on inequalities and how to reduce them. You’ll find more details in our status updates over the next few days. So if you’re not already following us on social media, you’re warmly invited to do so.
We’ll also be using the coming weeks to prepare for the next school year. In addition to expanding our staff, our main priority will be recruiting new students.
At the end of November, we’ll be flying to Germany. More details will be available in the next newsletter.

Thank You:
In closing, we’d like to once again express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supports us and our work through prayers, donations, or practical help. It is only because of you that our work here in Kenya is possible.
Would you like to support us and our work, or do you have any questions, suggestions, or other feedback? Please feel free to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!

Yours truly

Marco, Joy and Luana
