Newsletter February 26
Hello dear friends!
We have now successfully completed the first two months of our school and kindergarten operations. Last week, all of our children took a kind of “mid-term exam” to assess their current level of learning. This is completely normal in Kenya, even at kindergarten age. Everyone is currently on a week's vacation before continuing next week.
Our team has also gelled well, processes have settled in, and we are very grateful. For the second half of the term, we have even had a few inquiries from parents who want to send their children to us. Whether we will actually have more children next week remains to be seen.
Another piece of good news is that the relevant authorities have been here and we are now officially allowed to build a school. We do have to change a few things, but we will report on that in due course. Planning for the next buildings is already underway. Regardless of this, further inspections will follow in the coming weeks, for example by the Ministry of Health. Please pray that we meet all the standards, thank you very much!
Last week, we also began distributing food parcels. We were particularly pleased that we were able to distribute the parcels to people here in the region. They were really very grateful, partly because they had never received such support before.
Outlook:
In the coming weeks, we will distribute more food parcels and plan the next buildings for our school.
In addition, we will be visited by a group from our German home church at the end of next week. Their main goal is to further develop our playground. We are very much looking forward to this.
Thank you:
Once again, we would like to express our special thanks to everyone who supports us and our work through donations, prayers, or practical assistance. It is only through you that our work here in Kenya is possible. Thank you very much!
Would you also like to support us and our work, or do you have any questions, suggestions, or similar? Feel free to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!
Yours truly
Marco, Joy and Luana
